have been doing our shows since 1982, performing for many
different groups in many parts of the world and all have
been well received. We are proud to say that our shows are
family style entertainment and we want all to go away from
our shows smiling! The approximate running time is 30 to
40 minutes.
Show events
Chair carve
Carved from a standing block with a chainsaw.
Underhand chop
A logger from each team stands om the top side of a 14"
diameter log, chops between his feet starting on one side.
When he reaches the halfway point will turn and chop
through the back side. The logger, whose log hits the
ground first, wins!
Axe Throwing
A logger from each team will stand back 20¹ from his axe
target and throw a double bitted axe at the target
attempting to get the best score in three throws. Bulls
eye counts five points, then four, three, two and one.
Lots of crowd cheering involved.
Hot saw race.
Specialty tuned and piped power saw. Loud and fast! Will
be matched against a stock power saw to cut through a 15"
log. Approximate time for the cut 6 seconds.
Standing block chop.
This is an event which uses a logger from each team using
his specially filed racing axe to chop a standing log with
the least amount of hits. The first logger will take his
turn and chop through the front half of his log and then
stop, the second logger will then chop his log halfway
through all the while the crowd is asked to help his team
mate by counting the swings taken. Then back to the first
logger to finish off the back of his log. Again the second
logger will complete his chop. Some competitors have a
tendency to cheat!
Double Buck Race
Two loggers from each team will compete with a 7¹ cross
cut saw called "peg and rakes" to hand saw through a 15"
log.
Double buck vs. chainsaw
The winners of the double buck race will challenge losers
using any saw the losers have. The losers choose a
chainsaw to cut through a 15" log.
Jack and Jill double buck
A lady from each side of the crowd is chosen to
participate. Using a double buck saw they, along with a
logger, will saw through a log. The winner will receive a
special award and the looser will not go away empty
handed.
Springboard Chop.
A logger from each team will use his axe to notch a
standing tree butt. Then, place a springboard (used in the
early 1900's) in the notch, climb on the board, put in
another notch, place a second board in and climb up on it,
now being approximately 9¹ off the ground they will chop
the block off the top. First chopping through the front
then the back, when the block falls to the ground a winner
is declared.
Tree climbing
Generally the highlight or each show. Two climbers will
raise up the climbing trees to a height of
40 ft.
and back down again, in approximately 20 seconds. |
